Sixth Quarterly Meeting with International Experts Held on the Implementation of National Qualifications Framework Referencing and Self-Certification Processes

20 August 2026

On August 20, 2026, the Qualifications Development Service of the LEPL National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement organized the sixth quarterly meeting with international experts within the framework of the Erasmus+-funded project "Strengthening the Capacities for the Implementation of Georgia's National Qualifications Framework Referencing and Self-Certification Processes (GEOREF)."

The main objective of the meeting was an in-depth discussion of the feedback and proposals submitted by international experts Chiara Finocchietti and Baiba Ramiņa on the final draft of the report on the referencing of Georgia's National Qualifications Framework to the European meta-frameworks (EQF-LLL and QF-EHEA) and its self-certification.

The meeting reviewed in detail the progress made on the text of the report and outlined the clarifications and amendments incorporated into the draft report on the basis of the experts' comments. The participants also discussed the further steps to be taken, following the adoption of the final version of the report at the national level, toward its submission to European structures.

The National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement launched this project with the aim of harmonization with the European qualifications frameworks. The activity is intended to establish the harmonization and correspondence of Georgia's National Qualifications Framework with the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL) and the Qualifications Framework of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA).

The successful implementation of this process will contribute to the international transparency, compatibility, and recognition of qualifications awarded in Georgia within the European educational and labor markets.
