On March 27, 2026, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE), through its Qualifications Development Department, hosted the fifth quarterly working meeting with international experts. The session was conducted within the framework of the project: "Strengthening Capacities for Referencing and Self-Certification Processes of the National Qualifications Framework of Georgia (GEOREF)."
The primary objective of the meeting was to synthesize the current progress regarding the referencing and self-certification of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and to solicit evaluative feedback from international experts. The proceedings focused on ongoing reforms within the higher and general education systems. Participants engaged in detailed deliberations concerning the methodology for reflecting systemic changes—resulting from these reforms—within the comprehensive report. Furthermore, the meeting established final deadlines for the submission of the draft report and outlined planned activities for the April–June 2026 period. The NCEQE initiated this project to ensure alignment with European standards. The overarching goal is to harmonize and establish the compatibility of the Georgian NQF with the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL) and the Qualifications Framework of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA). The execution of this process ensures the comparability of Georgian qualifications with European benchmarks, thereby enhancing the international visibility and recognition of Georgia’s educational system.
